Carly Chamberlin Johann

Though Carly has always been an athlete and athletic supporter, it dawned on
her that running is very hard when switching from team sports to triathlon. More
accustomed to short hard efforts with a field hockey stick than any run over 100
yards, competing in endurance sports was a rough transition. It wasn’t until she starting incorporating functional movement prep and sport-specific strengthening workouts that she began to enjoy running and do it (relatively!) pain free.

Now, helping others learn to love running and reach a new fitness goal is
a rewarding way to share the wealth of endorphin-related cheer that being
physically active can bring. Carly draws on the wisdom of past coaches that have
taught her to push herself toward goals while maintaining a sense of humor and
self-belief. There will always be days and workouts that are challenging to the
point of discomfort, and it is at those times when belief and humor can go a long
way.
